The walk

Start at the sign
Welcome. That’s my sign, on Carpinteria Ave at Elm Street. The dolphin is the shop’s mark.

Pull into the yard
This is the covered yard, with a van, a box truck and customer cars waiting for service.

Tires under the canopy
Racks of tires out front under the canopy. Tell me the size and I’ll quote you new or used.

Beside the tire machine
Tires stacked next to the tire machine, from a loader tire to new light-truck tires. Every tire we mount is balanced.

The dolphins
Dolphins are my favorite animal. About 100 carved, cast and painted dolphins live in the front office, on the shelves, on the walls and beside the counter.

The waiting area: the fish tank, a surfboard, chairs by the window and the dolphin cabinet.

The Interstate battery rack in the front office. Beach Motor & Tires is an Interstate Batteries authorized dealer.

The official Intoxalock location, beside the battery rack. Ignition interlock installs happen here.

Andrew Cruz’s ALLDATA Information Specialist certificate, awarded September 2, 2009. ALLDATA is the repair information system shops use to look up factory procedures.

This is where you’ll find me, at the counter. The carved dolphin by my arm is one of about 100 in the shop.
